Falls, IA, in Manhattan, KS, where he was serving in the military. They were blessed with two children, Bill and Becky. In March of 1955, they returned home following Lyle's military service to the family farm west of Union, where they farmed until August of 2014 when they moved to a home in Union. Lyle enjoyed farming, raising cattle, hogs, and riding horses. He also enjoyed driving his restored 1967 John Deere 4020 tractor in local tractor rides. Lyle served on the New Providence School Board, as well as local ag committees. He was an active member of Chester Friends Church were he attended since he was a young boy until it closed and then he became a member of the Union Community Church in Union. Lyle was devoted to studying his Bible, attending Sunday School, and taking care of the Chester Church, as well as serving on various church committees. He was a devoted servant of God, husband, father, grandfather, and had many friends and neighbors. Left to cherish his memory are his children: Bill Minteer of Union, and Becky (Don) McKibben of Marshalltown, along with many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Lyle was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 66 years, Bonnie, a brother, Wilson Minteer, a sister, Margaret Winters, sister-in-law Marie Minteer, brother-in-law Ralph Winters, and daughter-in-law Rose Minteer.
