Tamara Short Schafer

Schafer, Tamara Short, age 49, went to be with the Lord on February 24, 2015 in Knoxville, Tennessee. Tamara was a loving Christian wife and mother, she was also a dedicated employee of Physicians Regional in the emergency room department. Originally from Kingsport, Tennessee, she was preceded in death by her father, Denham Short. She is survived and will be forever missed by her beloved husband of 25 years, Jim Schafer; precious children, Denham, Taylor, Spencer, and Macy; mother, Nita Short, of Kingsport; sister, Tanya Noel and husband Steve; nephew, Nicholas; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. The family will receive friends at Gentry Griffey Funeral Chapel in Knoxville on Sunday, Mar 1st from 2-3 pm. The Funeral Service will follow at 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to American Diabetes Association.  A private family interment will be held at the East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.
