Mark A. Chitwood
Mark Anthony Chitwood, 51, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 2, 2015, in the comfort of his home while surrounded by his closest family and friends. On this day, hard working hands were laid to rest. Mark graduated from Powell High School in 1981. He worked in automotive repair and construction, and demanded perfection from himself in everything he did. He is survived by son Travis and daughter-in-law Ashley Chitwood, daughter Chelsi; brother, David and wife Judy; sister, Tina Ridenour; mother of his children, Tracy Chitwood; aunts and uncles, Jane C. Hensley, Gail C. Blair, Kathyrne C. Brock, Bruce and Polly Chitwood; cousins, Nancy, John, Andy Brock; Ted, Anne Hensley; Joe Blair; Adam, Robert Chitwood; other cousins, aunts, uncles, several nieces and nephews; and parents Lynn Doyle (L.D.) and Mildred Beatrice (Mikki) Chitwood. Mark was overwhelmed and tremendously comforted by the outpouring of love and support extended to him during his courageous battle with cancer. Mark was deeply loved and will be sorely missed by all who knew him. The family will receive friends Saturday, April 11, 2015 from 2pm to 5pm at 7711 Andersonville Pike. Starting at 5pm, close family and friends will be honoring Mark's wishes for a Celebration of Life covered dish party. During a private graveside service, Mark's cremains will be interred at Fort Sumter Community Cemetery in a family plot provided by Aunt Gail Blair.
