John W. Montjoy

John Wellington Montjoy, Sr., age 68, died on April 28, 2016 following a valiant battle with declining health. A man of integrity and passion, John will always be remembered for his sense of humor and love of his family.  A Vietnam veteran of the US Marine Corps with two purple hearts, he had a successful career in mechanical engineering prior to retirement. As a result of his COPD, and constant struggle to breathe deeply, John was often heard to say, "I wish I had just one good day". He is now blessed with an eternity of "good days." John was preceded in death by his parents, Charles W., Sr. and Annie Ruth Montjoy; grandmother, "Mammy" Marcile Smith; uncle, Bobby Geiger; and cousin, Robbie Geiger. He is survived and will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Linda Rohde Montjoy; son, John "Jack" Montjoy, Jr. and wife Brooke; grandson, Tipton Cade Montjoy; brothers, Charles W. (JoEllen) Montjoy, Jr., Paul D.  (Katie) Montjoy; sister, Mary M. (Frank) Kennedy; nephews, Doug, John Robert and Charlie Montjoy; niece, Stephanie Kennedy Kristy; life-long friend Gregory Gault; and a host of extended family and friends whose lives he touched.
