Gary E. Baker

Gary E. Baker Sr., age 67 passed away on December 24, 2016 with his loving family at his side. Jokingly referred to as the "Mayor of Solway", Gary was known for his ability to mess up a joke. He will always be remembered for his love of family, kind and generous father and Papaw who taught all the children in the family to be respectful, fair and kind. He was also a ham radio operator and enjoyed breakfast club on the 145.370 Repeater. Gary was preceded in death by his daughter, Marcie Craft; parents, Carl and Mae Baker, infant sister, Marlene Baker and brother, Ronnie Baker. He is survived and will be deeply missed by his devoted wife of 50 years, Yvonne Brock Baker, son, Gary "Jack" Baker, Jr. and wife Lisa; grandchildren, Alex, Zachary, Sarah, Justin, Lucas and Ryan; sister, Darlene Rader and husband James; sister-in-law, Sheila Baker and a host of extended family and friends. There will be a Celebration of Life Service held by his family on January 14, 2017 at 1 pm at Solway Church of God, 3317 Solway Road, Knoxville, TN 37931.
