Patsy Ann Allen; loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and cousin passed away May 17, 2016 to be released from her earthly burden of Alzheimer's disease. Patsy was born August 20, 1930 in Phoenix, AZ. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jess and Katherine Jarrell. She is survived by her brother, Edward Jarrell (wife Dorothy), loving and dedicated husband of 64 years; James Allen; daughter, Joanne Allen-Cramer (husband Mike); son, Stephen Allen (wife Gigi); son, Thomas Allen (wife Carmen); grandchildren, Ryan Allen; Stephanie and Adam Mannon (great grandchildren, Isabella and Beau); Ashley Allen and Jessica Cramer. Patsy was a lifelong resident of Glendale in her years growing up and later, West Phoenix in her married years. Her family; the Rice, Jarrell and Fannins moved together to the Arizona Territory in 1907, from Ashland and Sandy Hook, KY. Most went in to farming, others in to real estate, politics and others..... in to a little "moon shining" to make ends meet. ated from Glendale High in 1950; where she made many friends and enjoyed belonging to many active teams and clubs, such as synchronized swimming, tennis, volleyball, softball, all-female football team, ping pong, letter girls/GAA, the Pep Club, GUH, and Rainbow Girls . She was also student body treasure and vice president along with being president of her Methodist youth group. She met Jim Allen on a blind date and fell head over heels and declared him to be the "One". They were married June 7, 1952 at the family Ranch off of 47th Ave, between Bethany and Glendale. Patsy went on to enjoy raising her family, gardening, raising birds, painting, fishing, camping, bingo, playing cards and traveling. But most of all, she was just being that fun-loving gal with the infectious laugh and personality that brought joy to everyone who knew her. Service will be held Thursday, May 26th at 10:00 AM at First United Methodist Church, 7102 N 58th Dr. in Glendale, AZ 85301. Please dress with color, as our Patsy would.
