John Alvin Scatterday

John Alvin Scatterday age 86 went on to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in his greatly loved cabin in Pinetop, Arizona, on Friday, June 3, 2016. Born in Columbus, Ohio, on February 19, 1930, he was preceded in death by his brother and two sisters.  John is survived by his beloved wife, Nina, his six children, Nona, Paul, John, Cathy, Mary and Mark, his 16 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.  John had a passion for flying.  He first obtained his pilot's license at the age of 17, and served as an aircrew member on a B-29 in the United States Air Force.  He loved boating and projects, especially those involving wood working.  He also helped his sons, John and Mark in their businesses.  Following his service in the military he married the love of his life, Nina, his high school sweetheart.  They were married 62 years.  He then worked 30 years for Ford Motor Company as a warranty specialist.  In his later years John had a great love for the Word of God and read often about Heaven.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Scottsdale Worship Center, 6508 East Cactus Road, Scottsdale, Arizona 85254, Thursday, June 16, 2016, followed by a service at 11:00...[more]
