Annie Ruth Finley

Annie Ruth "Marge" Finley, age 92, passed away peacefully on Mar 16, 2017 at her home in Phoenix, AZ. Marge was the daughter of Richard Pinklin Morgan and Martha Jane Blanken. She was the beloved wife of Edgar Francis Finley who predeceased her on April 2, 2008. Marge and Ed were united in marriage on January 25, 1946 in St. Peter's Catholic Church in Columbia, SC. They settled in the suburbs of Philadelphia, PA (Broomall), until relocating to Phoenix, AZ in 1969. She was born on November 15, 1924 at Kings Mountain, NC, but spent her childhood in Whitmire, SC, where she became a secretary in the Westpoint Stevens Cotton Mill, a company in which her father was a weaver and her mother was a spinner. She studied business at a Columbia business school affiliated with the University of South Carolina and played the clarinet. Marge was of the Baptist faith and devoted her life to her husband and children as a homemaker. In addition to her parents, Marge was predeceased by brothers and sisters: Doris Nell Brown, Richard P. leen Marie Granger (John), and David Edward Finley (Katherine); and six grandchildren: Stephen Carroll (Dusti) and Shaughn Carroll, Trent Finley and Alyssa Fernandez (Jon), and Alexandra and Brandon Finley; as well as eight great-grandchildren Keeley, Marina, Sealina, and Hallea Carroll, Cole Carroll, Travis Seitz, Trenton Finley, Hudson Fernandez and Great Great Grandaughter Maverick (Mavey) Agajanian, born 12/4/16 as well as numerous nephews and nieces. A beautiful woman, Marge was known for her high intelligence, quick wit and sense of humor, unselfish and caring heart and lovely ability to recite poetry. She loved her family and friends. Memories of her will live on in the hearts of her family. The family would like to thank Lorie and the special caregivers (Reggie, JP, Rowena (Weng) and Flor) at Moon Valley Assisted Living who loved her and gave her an amazing, loving home as well as her caring friend Don Cline, who she shared a special connection in being part of the Greatest Generation.
