Tom, 91, of Phoenix, AZ passed away on March 12, 2017. He was born to Dr. Byron and DeElda Callan on 7/19/1925 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He proudly served in the Army Air Corp in WWII. Tom was a graduate of the University of Nebraska, but became a Sun Devil fan after moving to Phoenix. Tom married Elizabeth "Betty" Shoener in 1953 and they had four children - Karen Novak (Larry), Connie Parmenter (Gary), Dennis (Drusi) and Kelly (Karen). In addition to their children, Tom and Betty have nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Tom kept his wonderful sense of humor up until the very end. The family spent many summers on Coronado Island in San Diego where they enjoyed the beach and the Sunday concerts at the park. Tom retired after 32 years as a VP with Valley National Bank. He was active on numerous boards, a Grand Knight for the Knights of Columbus and a volunteer in the community. Tom's life is defined by his Christian Faith, his strong loving marriage of 64 years and his commitment to family and friends.
