Richard Hansen

Beloved father and husband, Richard, "Rick", Hansen, 76, passed away on December 9, 2019 surrounded by his family. Born in Guthrie Center, Iowa, Rick is survived by his wife, Manuela, son, Richard Hansen, daughters Laura Hurst, and Sandra Stewart, and two granddaughters, Sarah Decker and Jesse Stewart. Rick was a career military man and retired from the army at the age of 40 as a Master Sergeant. A veteran of the Vietnam War, Rick earned the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, as well as the Vietnam Service Medal and Vietnam Campaign Medal. His military awards also included the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and National Defense Service Medal in addition to receiving the Army Good Conduct medal seven times. As a career Soldier, Rick also served his country in Western Europe and the Sinai Desert in the Middle East. Rick's great presence, giving spirit, and sense of humor will be greatly missed by those who knew him and loved him.[more]
