Today the world lost Michael Joseph Patrick Feeney as he was called to our Lord. We have lost the finest husband and father, truly a friend to all. Michael Feeney, 63, died suddenly on May 31, 2016. He was born in Phoenix Arizona on March 31, 1953 to Patrick and Louise Feeney. He attended St. Gregory's Catholic School and Church, and West High School. After studies at Drake University in Des Moines Iowa and Arizona State University, he graduated with a major in Mathematics and a minor in French. He took his first teaching position in Burlington, Vermont where he taught mathematics at Rice College. On a recent visit to Burlington, Michael was remembered by his students for his charisma, humor and dedicated teaching. A second teaching position in Apopka, Florida involved an interracial school for which Michael was well suited. His acceptance and interest in all students and his devotion to his class were greatly appreciated. After returning to Phoenix, Michael became active in the restaurant business. ved daughter Colleen was born August 31, 1981. He loved her deeply and raised her with as many advantages and opportunities as he could provide. He was so very proud of the woman that she has become. On April 13, 2013, Michael married the love of his life, Anne (Mollish). In attendance was his beloved Colleen, his best friend in the world, Mark Emerson, and a large assembly of family and friends at St. Gregory's Catholic Church. Anne and Michael were subsequently blessed with the birth of grandchildren, Nicholas and Emma on July 25, 2014. Michael's happiness and love could not be matched. He enjoyed the outdoors, traveling, teaching and young, fun, people. Primary to him most however, was his family and friendships. He was the epitome of generosity, caring, kind and patient. Michael is survived by his wife, Anne, daughter Colleen, grandchildren Nicholas and Emma, and his Mother-in-Law Mary Mollish. He is also survived by his brother Patrick (Kathy), sisters, Mary Schnide (Ken), Maureen Berget-Bles (Tom), and many nieces and nephews that he loved unconditionally. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at St. Gregory's Catholic Church, 3424 N. 18th Ave., Phoenix 85015. Reception to follow will be announced after the Mass. Interment will be at a later date in Butte, Montana where Michael fell in love with the community and the beautiful countryside at the base of the Continental Divide amongst the pines, green grass and crystal blue sky.
