Diane Taylor Bunting
Diane Taylor Bunting of Phoenix, Arizona passed away at age 84 on June 14, 2017. A memorial service will be held at Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary at 6500 E. Bell Road Scottsdale on July 29, 2017 at 11 a.m. Diane was born in Bloomington, Illinois on September 28, 1932. She attended Illinois Wesleyan University and completed a course in Medical Record Library Science from Northwestern University's Wesley Memorial Hospital. She married William L. Bunting, M.D. in 1952. He, as well as their three children survives her: Catherine Bunting of Phoenix, Arizona; David A. Bunting of Phoenix, Arizona; and Sara J. Bunting of Los Altos, California. A sister, Ellen Schroer Spangler of Mentone, Alabama, and two grandchildren Tyler Fetterman and Sean Bunting also survive her. Diane often introduced herself as a woman wearing many hats: wife, mother, grandmother, milliner, real estate agent, photographer, and artist. Building on her love of hats and sewing, she became a milliner, crafting hand-made hats on antique molds in her studio and selling them through her business: "B-Decked, Hats With an Attitude". x where she specialized in historic homes including those of Frank Lloyd Wright. A skilled photographer, Diane created, with Allen A. Dutton, a pictorial essay entitled Arizona Then & Now. The book, published in 1981 by Ag2 Press, is a collection of paired photographs--the first a 19th-century image of an Arizona community, and the second a contemporary photograph taken by Mrs. Bunting and Mr. Dutton from the same standpoint. As stated in the introduction by historian Marshall Trimble, the book "vivifies yesterday by superimposing today upon it." She was an active student of t'ai chi, Pilates, and drawing, through which she enjoyed vibrant circles of friends.
