A Celebration of Life service for Robert Michael "Mike" Horne will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Scottsdale Bible Church Shea Campus, 7601 E. Shea, Scottsdale 85260. Mike went to be with the Lord Sunday, August 6, 2017 at the age of 64. He was dearly loved and surrounded by family and friends. Survivors include his daughter, Alexandra (Alex) Nicole Horne of Cordova, Tennessee; sister, Paula Horne Covington (Ken) of Meridian, Mississippi; step-children, Bruck and Haley Henne and their mother, Julie Horne Brooks, of Scottsdale Arizona; nephews, Keith Covington (Missy), Matthew Covington; niece, Celia Covington Gooch (Robert) all of Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Ashley Horne and Dorothy Joy Boykin; grandparents, Robert Lee and Mattie Boykin; Sam and Merle Horne. Born in Raleigh, Mississippi July 20, 1953, Mike spent his childhood years in Morton, Mississippi. Upon graduation from Morton High School in 1971 he received a four year basketball scholarship. He has launched, rebuilt and managed from startup, several highly successful business operations, including SpinSix and Results Media Group. He was recognized throughout the marketing industry for his ability to analyze and effectively address even the most difficult marketing and business-related assignments. He was a leader within the local community, having served on the boards of Valley Big Brothers, Big Sisters; Metro Phoenix Broadcasters Association; Silent Witness; and Phoenix Suns Charities. Mike was a tremendous fan of music and enjoyed playing his guitars. He loved heading to the beach whenever he could and always enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. Throughout Mike's life his fighting spirit, professional drive, and love of life would result in a great deal of personal and professional successes which he shared with many others.
