Ronald Melvin Ogle Place of Birth: Phoenix, Arizona Born: June 18, 1948 Date he entered Heaven: March 18, 2018 Ron was the first born to Marie and Melvin Ogle. He is survived by his wife Connie Ogle, brother Gary Ogle (wife Vicki), and sister Carla Naylor (husband Kenny). He was fortunate to have three loving children Karri Hunt (husband Richard), Kelli Ogle, Ronald Ogle Jr. "Ronnie". With seven grandchildren Tyler, Clayton, Damion, Kendra, Maddie, Natasha and Larissa he always had ones to provide encouraging thoughts about life and love too. He was a graduate of West High School where he lettered in wrestling. After high school Ron enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps., he was a Vietnam Vet. While in the service he received multiple awards: Presidential Unit Citation, ones for Combat action, National Defense, Meritorious Unit, Navy Unit Citation, French Cross of Gallantry, and when in Vietnam 4 Stars for 4 major campaigns. He received an honorable discharge from the Marine Corps. on September 6, 1973. retirement in 2004. Ron and Connie had moved to Camp Verde during his retirement and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, taking long drives, camping, and helping ones in his neighborhood. He joined the Aztlan Lodge in Prescott, Arizona (Masonic Prescott Blue Lodge). He studied and became a 32 Degree Royal Arch Mason, he also was a Knights Templar, El Zarriba Shriner and a member of the Scottish York Rites. He was very proud of this organization and helped many new members in their teaching. He eventually moved back to the Phoenix area due to health issues. In June of 2015 Ron had a double lung transplant that saved his life. He fought extremely hard at numerous rehabilitation appointments that his brother Gary took him to. He felt better than ever. His fight was not over because he had a stroke right after Thanksgiving 2017 and after 3 months he got to go home for 10 days. His heavenly father then decided he needed him to help in heaven. He will be missed by everyone who knew what a good husband, father, brother, relative or friend he was. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 PM Sunday March 25, 2018 at Hansen Chapel, 8314 N. 7th Street, Phoenix 85020. Graveside service will be at 10:00 AM Monday March 26, 2018 at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd., Phoenix, 85024.
