Darryl Lee Fields

Darryl, age 71, died of cardiac arrest on October 18, 2018. He was born in 1947 to Merlin and Evelyn Fields in Denver, CO. His siblings include Nancy Fields Gibbons and Merlin Fields, Jr. He served in the U.S. Navy in the 60's. He worked at Valley National Bank, where he made lifelong friends. He graduated with a BA in Education at ASU. He began teaching at Pendergast Elementary in 1973, when it was a one school district. He continued teaching Junior High and Gifted Education until 2004, now with 13 schools. He directed many plays and talent shows, along with facilitating outdoor education experiences with his fellow teachers, now friends. He is famous for his Big D AZ salsa. He loved to cook, eat, and travel. He loved Rocky Point, Mexico. He is survived by Sandra Lynn Fields, married 42 years; children include Alisa Fields, Alan Fields married to Anna Fields; step-mom Pat Fields; siblings Nancy Fields Gibbons and Merlin Fields, Jr. Memorial service is at 3:00 PM Saturday November 10, 2018 at Hansen Chapel, 8314 N. 7th Street, Phoenix, AZ 85020.
