ly appreciated a good laugh and had a smile that could light up a room. In her wisdom she taught her daughters and grandchildren by example to be accepting of all, show compassion for those less fortunate, and not to be judgmental. Juanita was a good athlete, winning a decathlon medal in her teens, and at the age of 90 still loved bowling. She also was an avid sports fan and her teams, of course, were the Detroit Red Wings and the Tigers. Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, William; parents, Winnie Bell and Joseph Melton; brother, Glenn and a daughter, Judith Ann. She is survived by her daughter, Karen (Bradley N. Cory) Clay of Marquette; grandchildren, Rex Glasson of Sarasota, FL, and Jason (Andrea) Glasson of Cape Coral, FL; and great-grandson, Rex Glasson of Sarasota, FL. A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held in Detroit at a later date with inurnment to take place at Roseland Park Cemetery in Berkley. Donations may be made to the Marquette County Medical Care Facility Activities Fund or to UPAWS in Juanita's memory. The Canale-Tonella Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
