JOHN ANDREW MENI

John Andrew Meni, 47, of Gwinn, died unexpectedly Friday afternoon, August 22, 2014. John was born on June 7, 1967 in Negaunee to Thomas C. and Kathleen A. (King) Meni. He was a 1985 graduate of Negaunee High School. He then attended Northern Michigan University for one year prior to leaving the U.P. to pursue employment. John also attended a barber school and later worked in the cosmetology industry. He was employed as a flight attendant and for the State of New Jersey Department of Motor Vehicles. He is survived by his partner of 25 years, Rick Dwight of Brooklawn, NJ; his mother, Kathleen Meni of Gwinn; brother, Bill Meni of Gwinn; sister-in-law, Rena Yelle of Marquette; mother-in-law, Grace Dwight; four nieces, Alicia Meni, Katlyn Meni, Grace Marie Polillo, and Samantha Dwight; two nephews, Kyle Dwight and Michael Bunker; a great niece, Madison Meni; canine companions, Nikki and Timmy; also several aunts, uncles and cousins as well as many, many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Meni on May 25, 2013. There are no funeral services scheduled at this time.
