GAIL ANN BURKE

Gail Ann Burke, 68, of Marquette, died Monday morning, March 16, 2015 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility in Ishpeming. Gail was born on May 26, 1946 in Orfordville, Wisconsin, a daughter of the late John and Wilda (Stuart) Worden. She received her undergraduate degree from UW Whitewater and did post graduate studies at Northern Michigan University. Gail previously taught art at Sun Prairie, Wisconsin School Systems. She was also employed for 28 years with MSU Extension, retiring in 2009 as an executive secretary. In her free time, Gail loved being a gourmet cook. Survivors include her husband, James M. Burke of Marquette; step-son, John Paul (Christa) Burke of Glendale, CA; and two grandchildren, Nathaniel Hudson Burke and Spencer Johnnette Beck. Preceding her in death besides her parents was a brother, Fred Worden. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 24th at 11 a.m. in St. Peter Cathedral with the Rev. Msgr. Michael Steber officiating. Friends may call at the Bishop's Room of the cathedral one hour prior to the Mass on Tuesday. Burial will take place in the Holy Cross Cemetery.
