William Bernard Boney Coughlin, Jr., 73, of Marquette, died Friday afternoon, November 24, 2017 at UP Health System Marquette. He was born March 19, 1944 in Marquette, a son of the late William B. and Louise (Matte) Coughlin, Sr. and was a lifelong area resident. William served in the US Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. He worked for many years as an auto body mechanic at various auto body repair shops, including Libbicks, Superior Collision and Formula One. On August 10, 2008 he married his longtime girlfriend, Kelley Ross at Redeemer Lutheran Church. Through the years Williams interests included Tai Kwan do, softball, dart and pool leagues. He was an avid outdoors sportsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was known as a legend on the Little Garlic River. He was a musician and talented artist working in the medium of painting and drawings. William was a man of many talents. He is survived by his wife, Kelley Ross-Coughlin of Marquette; children, Lisa Jacobsen of Gwinn, Laura (Ted Forcum) Coughlin of Portland, OR, Chad Coughlin of Marquette and Joseph Ross of Marquette; grandchildren, Karah, Devin, Noah, Gabriel, Kira, Leah and Kaiden; great-grandchild, ...[more]

e; siblings, Rosalee (Donald) Treadeau of Dollar Bay, Joseph (Terri Jo) Coughlin of Santa Ana, CA, Thomas (Sandy) Sutton of Vail, AZ and Mary (Raul) Montano of Tucson, AZ; former wife, Karen Dunleavy of Ralph; and his canine companions, Tasha, Vicky, Chelsea and Skittles. He was preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law, Helen Ross and brother-in-law, Barry Ross. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 1, 2017 from 10 am to 12 Noon at Redeemer Lutheran Church. A memorial service will be held at 12 Noon in the church with Rev. Chad Ott officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family, Redeemer Lutheran Church Vacation Bible School Program, UPAWS or a charity of the donors choice.
