co football, motorsports and board games with family and friends. She recently took up Bunco and enjoyed the fun and laughter it brought; it reminded her of younger days playing Bridge. Lois loved sweets but chocolate was her favorite, as well as anything related to her favorite movie, Gone With the Wind. She loved all holidays but most especially Christmas. When the children were younger, she would stay up all night on Christmas Eve wrapping presents, only to be awakened at the crack of dawn to open those presents. But she enjoyed every minute of it and worked tirelessly to make Christmas special for her loved ones. Lois and Dan loved dogs of all kinds but were especially fond of Keeshonden, raising and loving nine over the years, including two rescues. She was also very partial to her Labrador "grand-dogs." Lois loved God; she and Dan attended Desert Breeze Community Church in Phoenix and previously Manitou Springs Community Church. The world has lost a remarkable and beloved woman, but God has recalled a beautiful soul. In her memory and in lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations in her name to the National Hall of Flame Firefighting Museum or the Make a Wish Foundation. Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, a Celebration of Life will follow, to be announced once stay-at-home and gathering restrictions are lifted.
