Carol Newport Wasserstein

Carol Newport Wasserstein passed peacefully at her home in Houston on April 12th, 2020 after an extended battle with cancer. Carol was born February 23, 1950 in St. Louis, MO to Bernard (z''l) and Harriet Newport (z''l) and graduated from University City High school and Roosevelt University. Carol was a proud teacher at Kolter Elementary School, having taught second grade in Room 4 for over twenty years. She deeply enjoyed studying Judaism and actively volunteering at Seven Acres Jewish Senior Care Services and Celebration Company at Jewish Family Service. She is survived by her husband of almost fifty years Dr. Jerry Wasserstein, her son Brent Wasserstein and his sons Truman and Ryan, her daughter Joy Nathan and her husband Marc Nathan and their daughters Becca, Naomi, Julia, and Hannah, and her daughter Jill Newman and her husband Steven Newman and their daughters Emily and Hailey, her brother Lynn Newport, his wife Linda and their daughters Bari and Mandy, her brother Jeffrey Newport, and his wife Tseela and their son Daniel.
