Stephenia "Steph" Louise Thomas-Claytor
Stephenia "Steph" Louise Thomas-Claytor went from labor to reward after a courageous battle with leukemia on April 20th, 2020 at the tender age of 57.
Stephenia "Steph" was born on December 24, 1962 in Des Moines, IA to Orange Al Thomas & Margaret L. McKee. She was raised in Knob Noster, MO with her grandparents Dovie "Momma" & George "Papa" Thomas.
Steph was educated in the Knob Noster and Kansas City, Mo school systems before moving back to Des Moines where she graduated from Hoover High school the class of 1981. She then continued her education at DMACC where she studied computer science. She used those skills to gain employment with ITA Group as a Business Systems Analyst. Her other notable employment was with Northwestern Bell Telephone Co, and with Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Iowa, Younkers Dept stores and Sears.
Steph was united in marriage with the love of her life Kenny Claytor, Sr. in which they shared 36 wonderful years together and out of that union were blessed with four children.

r presence always made others feel welcomed and comfortable. She had the most loving divine spirit and would have you laughing for days. Steph loved and was loved greatly! She enjoyed spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, family, and friends. She also enjoyed working on computers, interacting with family and friends on social media rather it being communicating or playing games.
Steph also enjoyed reading, watching movies, listening to music, & supporting all her children's activities.
Steph was preceded in death by her Mother Margaret L. Hart; Father Orange Al Thomas; Grandparents George & Dovie Thomas, Orville & Fanny Mckee; Sister Tina Thomas; Brothers: Allen Craig Thomas & Anthony "Tony" Thomas; Grandson Kenny T. Claytor III
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband Kenny Claytor Sr.; Mother Leslie Ballew; Daughter Kalyna Thomas; Sons: Kenny "KC" Claytor Jr, Arlon, Claytor, Kenaj "Najee" Claytor all of Des Moines, IA; Sisters: Janice Collier & Dovie Muhammad of Phoenix, AZ, LaToya Thomas of Kanas City, MO & Tracie Thomas of Cedar Rapids, IA; Brothers: Arnold "Junie" Harris Jr. & DeMarques Thomas of Phoenix, AZ, Archie "Butch" (Teresa) Collier of Cedar Rapids, IA, Michael (Laura) Jones of Des Moines, IA, Sean Lovelady of Augusta, Ga; Her many grandchildren; Great-grandchildren; Bonus children: Nyree Cain, Teddy Thomas, James, Heather, Joey & Danielle Madewell; A host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
