Shirley Dee Burch

Shirley Dee (Cope) Burch passed away on April 11, 2020 of natural causes. Born in Arkansas on November 12, 1942, Shirley moved with her parents to Arizona when she was a young child. She spent the rest of her life in the Phoenix area. After graduating from Carl Hayden High School, she took a job with Mountain Bell and eventually became one of their highest paid supervisors due to her incredible work ethic and natural intelligence. She later helped her husband build two separate companies from the ground up, and set the bar high for people to emulate her strength and energy, especially since she had to put up with him while doing so! She loved traveling everywhere, for any reason and had a special fondness for Disneyland and SeaWorld. She was always up for an adventure and enjoyed seeing the world. She was a wonderful wife to her deceased husband, Donald Burch, and a loving daughter to her mother Dee Cope, also deceased. While she was an awesome mother to her two sons, it was as a grandmother to five grandchildren that she found her calling. ng them to drive (over the objections of the parents who she never listened to) to letting them drink as much chocolate milk as they wanted; nothing was too good for them in her eyes. She loved them all dearly, and they responded in kind. One person after her passing said the first word that came to her after hearing of Shirley's passing was "firecracker". Truer words were never spoken. She will be dearly missed. Visitation will take place on Thursday, May 28th 2020 from 10:00am - 12:00pm. A funeral service will follow at 12:00pm at Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary 6500 E. Bell Road Scottsdale, AZ 85254.
