Edward H. Stahl, 73, of Rochester, died Tuesday, May 25, 2010, while recuperating from surgery.
Ed was born September, 21, 1936, in Mountain Lake, Minnesota to the late Hayes and Lucille Stahl. He attended Windom public schools, graduating in 1955. He then attended Mankato State University for two years, and was a member of the National Guard. On September 7th 1963, he married Mina Rose Riley in Windom, MN. Ed was employed by Northwestern Bell Telephone Company for thirty years, before his retirement in 1987. During his retirement, Ed enjoyed spending time at Fish Lake and assisting with farming near Windom. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and was an active outdoorsman. He was a supporter of Duck’s Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, and a long time member of the Southern Minnesota Trap Club. He was also active in the Telephone Pioneers. Ed was a volunteer firearms safety instructor, as well as a past Boy Scout troop leader. He was a 32nd degree Mason of the Scottish Rite Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Mina, two sons, Eric (Christine) and granddaughters Kelsie and Alissa of Rochester; and John (Sara) of Custer, SD.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents.
