Arthur enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, visiting neighbors and friends and most of all playing and teasing with his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife of seventy years, Ella Giese of Windom; two son's, Kent Giese and his wife, Mary, of Duluth and Dallas "Butch" Giese and his wife, Joan, of Jeffers; eight grandchildren, Pamela Busswitz and her husband, Brian, of Westbrook; Elizabeth Whiteford of Grand Rapids; Greg Giese and his wife, Kim, of St. James; Stephanie Giese of Branson West, MO; Kristine Mertesdorf and her husband, Chris, of Byron; Kerri Oltmans and her husband, Scott, of Heron Lake; Jody Wolner and her husband, Mike, of St. James; and Ann Rudolph of Cuyuna; twelve great-grandchildren, Heather Whiteford, Miranda Giese, Jackson Oltmans, Cameron Giese, Noah Mertesdorf, Evan Oltmans, Kaylyn Rudolph, Olivia Rudolph, Carter Wolner, Ava Mertesdorf, Madelyn Oltmans, and Peyton Wolner; one brother, Clayton Giese of Olympia, WA; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Christina Giese; one son, Arthur L. "Chip" Giese; three brothers, George Giese, Harley Giese and William Giese; and one sister, Ann Giese.
