Patricia Mae Rasmussen

Patricia Mae Rasmussen, 78, died on Tuesday, May 12, 2020, at Friendship Haven, Fort Dodge, IA. She had been diagnosed with terminal cancer 11 months prior and was under Hospice care. She had fought cancer off and on for 28 years. Her strong will to live, unwavering faith in God, and the love and prayers of family and friends carried her through these last months. Patty, or Patsy as her mother called her, was born on October 1, 1941 in Mankato, Minnesota. She was the only child of her parents Nellie Mae (Good) and Arthur Byron Williamson. She grew up in the Fort Dodge area, graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1959, and graduated from Buena Vista College with a teaching degree. She was known for her ease in frequent conversation with even total strangers, she possessed a contagious smile, an angelic voice, and a passion for teaching!
