Robert E. Taylor, 69, of Suwanee, Georgia, died Wednesday, January 6, 2016. Robert courageously battled illness across a span of nearly 8 years. After a few notable last words and a beautiful goodbye, he passed away peacefully surrounded by his family.

Robert was born January 25th, 1946 in Orlando, Florida to Reuben and Vera Taylor. He grew up primarily in Nashville and Tifton, Georgia. Throughout his lifetime, he lived not only in South Georgia and Suwanee, but also in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, West Palm Beach, Florida, Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Kennesaw, Georgia. He was a proud UGA alumni, Navy Veteran, and accomplished and highly awarded IT Professional. However, his biggest accomplishment was being a loving and successful single father to four children. In 2008, Robert married the love of his life, Juliette.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Reuben and Vera Taylor. He is survived by his beautiful wife, Juliette J. Taylor, daughters Stephanie (Russell) Kell, Kelly (David) Bannister, Amanda (William) Guzman, and his son, Ryan (Jaclyn)Taylor, as well as his grandchildren Kaine, Kyrsten, Jacob, Abigail, Benjamin, Madeline, William, and Emma. ...[more]

also leaves behind stepsons Winston "Skip" (Jane) Johnston and Todd (Lea) Johnston, and their children Caden, Conner, Tristan and Winston. Surviving siblings are Sue (Bobby) Kirkland, Joy (Jerry) Garner, and Rev. Martin (Pamela) Taylor, as well as seven nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to attend a ceremonial internment with military honors at Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, Georgia at 2:30, on Thursday Jan 14th in Pavilion 2. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 23 at 2:00 at Vickers Church in Tifton, Ga. Pastor Jerry Hewatt will officiate both services.
