nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Byron was born in Atlanta in September, 1956.  He attended Mercer University where he studied Power Plant Mechanics and eventually began his long career with Fulton County Public Works.  He went on disability Retirement in 2006, after 28 years of service with the County.  Byron survived colon cancer, prostate cancer, skin cancer, and several other illnesses over the years.  He became heavily involved with NA (Narcotics Anonymous) and continued to attend meetings as he was able until he was hospitalized this last time.  He made many wonderful friends in NA and they have continued to support Byron through the years.

Byron loved everyone, especially his family, and he was well loved by all.  He was a big guy, with a big heart – loving, kind, and caring – and he loved Katie, Ethan, Amber and EJ with every ounce of his being.
He wanted so badly to teach “Penguin” how to fish, just as he had Katie and Ethan.  There are so many stories to tell of Byron and so many specials memories.

Byron was strong in his faith and in his salvation.  At the end, he was truly calm and ready to go meet his Savior.
