Beatrice "Bea" Logan

Beatrice "Bea" Logan, 82, of West Burlington died at 6:49 a.m. Monday, June 7, 2010, at her home. Born September 27, 1927 in Colchester, Illinois, she was the daughter of Marshall Ray and Rose May Holcomb Powell. On September 1, 1947 she married Richard H. Logan at Scott's Church near Colchester. Mrs. Logan was a homemaker and also worked at Pies on Parade. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church. She taught sixth grade Sunday school classes for many years and was also active in arranging the funeral meals for the church. She was known for her home cooking and had been a square dancer for many years. Survivors include her husband, Richard H. Logan of West Burlington; three daughters, Marsha Peters of Fraser, Colorado, Patricia Nelson of Burlington and Billie Logan of West Burlington; two sons, Kevin Logan and Matthew Logan both of West Burlington; 13 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and two brothers, Lindy Powell and Joe Powell both of Macomb, Illinois. She was preceded in death by one son, Henry R. Logan; her parents; one sister, Marjorie Endres; and five brothers, Paul Powell and Donald Powell and three in infancy. on until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 9th, in Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service for Mrs. Logan will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 10th, in Lunning Chapel. Pastor Don Crawford will officiate. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials have been established for Des Moines County Humane Society and First Assembly of God Church.
