Richard "Dick" Johnson, 82, of Clinton passed away Monday, June 15, 2020 at his home in Clinton.

Richard Albert Johnson was born November 27, 1937 in Nyack, New York, the
son of George and Doris (Van Vorst) Johnson. He was married to Marion Schafer. He
earned a Bachelor's Degree from Manhattan College and M.S. and PhD in biochemistry from Virginia Tech. Most recently he was employed as a chemist for Sethness Products, retiring in 2002. Prior to that he worked for Clinton Corn (Nabisco Brands) for 19 years.

a charter member of the Hawkeye Master Swimmers and volunteered as a youth aquatic swimming coach at the YMCA.

He is survived by his wife Marion of Clinton; three children: Katherine (Paul Thran) Johnson of Chicago, Illinois, Kieth (Dana Weigel) Johnson of League City, Texas and Russell (Tiffany Ulett) Johnson of Libertyville, Illinois; nephew Robert Johnson of Newburg, New York, and proud grandfather of twelve grandchildren: Mitchel, Theodore, Lukas, Jacob, Emma, Max, Michelle, Mimi, June, Kaden, Zoey and Kendall.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a nephew.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial donations to Bickelhaupt Arboretum or other charity of your choice.
