Jack Roper

Jack R. Roper, age 78, of Cumming, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2020. Jack was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church since 1962 and was Ordained as a Deacon in 1986. He had served as the Sunday School Superintendent twice, involved in numerous activities within the Church and enjoyed singing in the adult choir. Jack was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and dearly loved his family. He worked in the automotive Parts industry for 41 years. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, A. B. and Pearl Roper; 2 brothers, A. B. (Sue) Roper, Jr., Mack Roper; 2 sisters, Annie Mae (Rev. J. T.) Hollingsworth, Joyce (Troy) Frix; sister-in-law, Virginia Roper; brother-in-law, Billy (Frances) Hawkins; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Sherman and Lorene Padgett. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 21st at 2:00 pm at New Harmony Baptist Church with Rev. Donnie Nix, Rev. Johnny Padgett and Rev. Johnny Purcell and Rev. Todd Christopher officiating. Interment will follow at New Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Friday, June 19th from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Saturday, June 20th from 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm and Sunday from 10:00 am until hour of service.
