James D. Brayer Fairport Died suddenly at home on June 19, 2020 at age 86. Survived by his wife, Barbara (Beale); children, Margaret (Patrick) Findle, Deborah (David) Root, Thomas B. (Colleen) Brayer, Douglas S. (Lisa) Brayer; 9 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. Jim was a graduate of Monroe High School and Amherst College (1955) with a degree in economics. He then served in the US Army until 1957 when he joined Stecher-Traung-Schmidt Corp. in sales. After serving in Chicago as Midwest District Sales Manager, Jim left in 1978 as Vice President of Sales, Eastern Division. After a brief time as Director of Sales at the Bastian Co., he became a commissioned agent selling advertising specialties and imprinted sportswear for several different principles before retiring in 2008. He was a founding member of Church of the Transfiguration in Pittsford. There he served in fundraising capacities, on the finance committee, and as a lector and adult acolyte. Jim also was a volunteer driver for Elderberry Express, Inc. (a part of Pittsford Senior Citizens) and, for 14 years, he was a baseball umpire for Pittsford Little League.
