Joel Elder, 50, of Des Moines, passed away on June 22, 2020 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.
There will be a private family service at Merle Hay Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life following.
Joel Robert Elder was born in Des Moines, Iowa on November 28, 1969; he was the son of Dennis and Sally (Hancock) Elder. He enjoyed spending time with his kids, sports, reading, watching funny movies, hiking, listening to Rock and Roll and telling stories.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Casey Elder, Austin Elder, Madison Elder and Eliana Heins and a sister, Shelby Elder.
In death he rejoins his parents, Sally and Dennis Elder, grandparents, Ralph and Margie Hancock.
