Thomas Melvin McIntire

Thomas Melvin McIntire, age 68, of Morgantown, passed away Wednesday morning, June 15, 2016 at his residence following a long illness. He was born August 8, 1947 in Parkersburg, WV, the only child of the late James and Bessie (Lockhart) McIntire. Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Carolyn Sue Calhoun McIntire, whom he married June 15, 1996; two children, Krista Beth Threadgill of Columbus, OH and Jay Thomas McIntire of Frankfort, KY; a step-son, Justin R. Martin of Mousie, KY and four grandchildren. Tom was a 1965 graduate of Parkersburg High School, and a 1971 graduate of West Virginia University, where he received his Pharmacy Degree. Following college, he worked for a while in retail pharmacy sales before advancing his career and becoming the Director of Pharmacy at several different hospitals. At the age of 50, Tom went to graduate school and received his MBA. In 1999, he took a teaching job at the WVU School of Pharmacy where he taught until his retirement in 2009. y. He took amazing nature shots and glamour poses. Tom was a true and dedicated fan of the WVU Mountaineers. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no formal services. Tom will be cremated, and he will be laid to rest with his parents at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Parkersburg at a later date. Professional services are under the direction of Smith Funeral & Cremation Care, 108 Holland Ave., Westover.
