Penny Lee Phillips, age 67, of Morgantown, went to be with the Lord early Monday morning, October 28, 2019 at her residence with her family by her side. Penny was born June 29, 1952 in Morgantown and was a daughter of the late Howard and the Virginia (Lowe) Hilling. Penny was a devout Christian, member of the Spruce St. United Methodist Church and a prayer warrior who kept tremendous faith in the Lord and believed in the power of prayer. Her greatest blessing from the Lord was her family, whom she absolutely adored. They will remember her as the best cook in the world who loved to host holiday meals and could make a mean pan of peanut butter fudge. Penny had a huge heart for those around her and all living things .her love had no boundaries. Penny made it a point to make someone elses day brighter in some way, and always thought of others before herself. She was an intelligent woman, and a problem solver. Penny lead a country-type lifestyle. She loved to garden, grow vegetables and can. She was an artistic person whose creativity was limitless. Hilling Sypolt; grandchildren Shaun Penrod, Terran Phillips, Rachel Marie Penrod and Robert Penrod Jr.; her bonus children Judi Kipfer and her son Johnathon Kipfer,and Patricia and Terry Huston and their children Chaz and Cody; sister-in-law, Muriel Ferrell and her husband Robert, and special friends Debbie and Melinda Walls, Frank Ferrell and Alexa May. Friends may join the family to honor Pennys life and legacy at Smith Funeral Cremation Care, 108 Holland Ave., Westover / Morgantown on Thursday, October 31st from 11 AM 1 PM and again from 3:00 PM until the time of the funeral service at 5:00 PM with Reverend Neil Leftwich officiating. Penny loved purple and maroon and the family invites you to share in the celebration of her life by wearing or carrying something in her favorite colors.
