Dale Eugene Van Veldhuizen, son of Henry and Cornelia (Kay) ( Van Gilst) Van Veldhuizen was born April 27, 1941 at home near Wright, IA. He was the third child of seven born into the family.
Dale graduated in 1959 from Lacey High School and was committed to the family farm with his father and brothers.
While scooping the loop in Oskaloosa, Dale met Linda Stubbs and their relationship began. On January 2, 1962, Dale and Linda were married at the Bethel Christian Reformed Church. To this marriage, they were blessed with five children: Sherry, Karen, Bryan, Alaine and David.
Dale's love for God's earth and the stewardship of it fulfilled his lifelong passions. With Linda by his side, he dedicated 40 years to family and farming.

Dale enjoyed being involved in the community and in his church. He was dedicated to his Lord and Savior and was a lifelong member of the Bethel and First Christian Reformed Churches serving as a deacon. He strongly believed in Christian Education and served as ...[more]

rd member at Oskaloosa Christian School and Pella Christian High School. He was a member of the Leighton Lions Club, Red Rock Threshers Club, an Adams Township Trustee, and board member at the Nelson Pioneer Farm.
Early Saturday morning, July 4, 2020 Dale, at 79 years old, was greeted by his Maker and Savior.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Larry and Ronald, one sister Caryl, and one brother in law, Gene Vande Kieft.

Also surviving Dale are two sisters, Erma (Merle) Nunnikhoven of Pella, Mary Vande Kieft of Oskaloosa, one brother Marvin (Judy) Van Veldhuizen of Oskaloosa, one sister in law Rosemary Van Veldhuizen of Oskaloosa and one brother in law Lee Spencer of Carlisle.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 9, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in the First Christian Reformed Church in Oskaloosa with Reverend Jonathan Spronk officiating. There will be a family prayer service at 10:45 Thursday morning in the basement. Burial will be in The Evergreen Cemetery in Leighton. According to the rules put in place by the Iowa Department of Public Health, proper social distancing and reasonable personal protective equipment is advised for attending a religious public event. The funeral service will be live streamed at the funeral home's YouTube Channel for those wishing to support the family from a distance. Visitation will begin Wednesday, July 8, 2020 after 11:00 a.m. in the First Christian Reformed Church in Oskaloosa. The family will be at the church on Wednesday evening from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.
