l worked for the Mt. Pleasant Public Library for ten years sharing her love of learning and reading with others. She retired from the library in 1985. Mildred was a member of First Baptist Church, where she was active in the Rebecca Circle and Bible Reader's Class, along with teaching Sunday school. She was a member of Mothers' Club. She enjoyed planting and tending flowers, picnics, reading, and playing Scrabble. Mrs. Neil is survived by two daughters, Kay (Marvin) Miller of Tipton, IA, and Linda (Joe) Kiene of Mt. Pleasant, IA; one brother, Lyle (Lola) Swan of Mt. Pleasant, IA; and a sister, Helen Prickett of Salem, IA. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Kim (Craig) Regennitter, Shelly (Ken) Lehmeier, Lisa (Dave) Russell, and Lonnie Lampe; six great-grandchildren, Larry and Robert Rochau, Keith and Craig Lehmeier, Brandon Russell and Alyssa Lampe. Along with her husband and parents, Mrs. Neil was preceded in death by her brothers, Dallas, Dale, Glen, Bob, Rex, and Fletcher Swan; two sisters, Betty Mertens and Twyla Swan; and two great-grandchildren, Christopher Rochau and Anthony Ross.
