Derrick Demont Dewalt, 34, was born in Davie County on February 9, 1983, son of Darrell Dyson and Louise Dewalt. He attended Davie County Schools, and received a GED. He worked at Dominion Construction Company in Winston-Salem, NC. Derrick's hobbies were fashion, sports, and hair dressing. He took pride in wearing stylish clothing and especially enjoyed football. Derrick attended Redemption Christian Center in Wilkesboro, NC. On Saturday, February 3, 2017, he died at his home in Arcadia, NC. He was preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn L. Dewalt. He is survived by his father, Darrell Dyson of Mocksville; his mother Louise Dewalt (Michael Chaffin) of Mocksville; four sons, Kayden Mitchell; Demont Dewalt, Jr., Jiheem E. Dewalt, and Shakwan D. Dewalt; two daughters, Olivia L. Dewalt, and Shaver'a V. Martinez; four brothers, Rodney Dewalt, Jr., Mickey J. Dewalt, Kelvin Dewalt, and Rocky L. Dewalt; two sisters, Frances B.
