Mr. Joseph Gerard Morin, of Taunton, died peacefully Thursday, January 21, in the Golden Living Center Wedgemere, surrounded by his loving family, following a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Phyllis T. (Porciello) Morin, who passed away on January 7. He was born 80 years ago in Taunton, the son of the late George and Marie Rose (Courcy) Morin. He was educated in Taunton, having graduated from the former Msgr. James Coyle High School, and had been a lifelong city resident. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed as a Mental Health Assistant at the Paul A. Dever State School for 13 years. He had previously been employed as a store manager for the former Fernandes Supermarkets for 15 years and had formerly been employed as a warehouseman for Western Auto for 13 years. Following his retirement, Mr. Morin was a driver for both Blooms Bus Lines and Taunton Motorized Carriage. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of the Portuguese-American Civic Club and the Polish-American Citizens Club. f. He was a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Church in Taunton. He leaves: 2 sons: Edward Morin and his wife, Kathy of Centerville Robert A. Morin and his wife, Jodie of Taunton 2 daughters: Anne Marie Coffin of Fall River Joanne Oliveira and her husband, Jeffrey of Somerset 2 brothers: Leo Morin and his wife, Elaine of Taunton Raymond Morin and his wife, Judy of Florida 2 sisters: Theresa Enos and her husband, Richard of Taunton Lucille Cavanaugh of Warren, R.I. 8 grandchildren: Shannon Phillips, Alan Marshall, Jeffrey Oliveira, Jr., Kara Kelly, Kristina Coffin, Casey Walsh, Joseph Coffin and Alyssa Oliveira 2 great grandchildren: Samantha Lynds and Logan Kelly several nieces and nephews Mr. Morin was also the father of the late Patricia Morin of Taunton, and the brother of the late Paul Morin and Claire Waldron. Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Monday, January 25 at 9:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Jude the Apostle Church at 10:00 A.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment will be private. Visiting Hours will be held on Sunday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 85 Astor Ave., Suite 2, Norwood, Ma., 02062.
