John C Marley, age 83, of Fairmount, IN, died Wednesday, January 15, 2014, at Marion General Hospital in Marion, IN. John was the son of the late A. LawrenceMarley and the late Gulia C. Marley, born on June 1, 1930 in Summitville, Indiana.He was a 1948 graduate of Summitville High School and a 1953 graduate of Agriculture Agronomy of Purdue.John went on to serve in the Armored Tank Division of the Army from 1953 to 1955 and later graduated from the University of Wisconsin Banking School.John retired from The Fairmount State Bank where he served as Vice-President from 1957 to 1995 and also served on the Board of Directors.He was a member of the Fairmount United Methodist Church and over 50 year member of the Fairmount and Summitville Masonic Lodge.John enjoyed his grandchildren and was their #1 fan attending their activities, dance recitals and sporting events. He enjoyed traveling, including a recent trip with his entire family to Nashville, Tennnessee. He is survived by his wife Linda (Duling) Marley, with whom he celebrated a 50th wedding anniversary on January 12. Interment will be at Park Cemetery, Fairmount, IN on Saturday, January 25 at 11 AM.
