Robert Michael Moulton, age 60 of Fairmount, died at 5:00 a.m. on Friday, February 20, 2015 at Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Wayne after a brief illness. He was born on March 30, 1954 in Hamilton, Ohio to the late Allen Glen and late Betty Lou (Diggs) Moulton. He was a 1972 graduate of Madison-Grant High School and a 1974 graduate of Vincennes University. On June 14, 1975, Robert married Anita Brewer in Summitville, she survives in Fairmount. He was always a dedicated law enforcement officer, attending the Traffic Institute of Accident Reconstruction at Northwestern University and the Heckler and Koch International Sniper School. He was a police officer for the Marion Police Department, retiring as a sergeant with twenty-one years of service. While on the department, Robert was a member of the SWAT team, served as accident reconstructionist and, was in charge of the inmate work crew. In addition to his work at the MPD, he worked in the Loss Prevention Department for Marsh Supermarkets, conducting internal, external and, organized retail crime investigations. eer, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and, attending his granddaughters sporting events. In addition to his wife, Anita, Robert is survived by his children, Ryan (Sabra) Moulton, of Rossville and, Lauren (Glen) Davis, of Middletown; granddaughter, Shaylin Moulton, of Rossville; sister, Glenda (John) Dearth, of Upland; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Dan Sanders; and dog, Pete. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Abraham and Easter Moulton, King Link and, Eva Diggs; and in-laws, John Edward and Mary Jane Brewer. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main St., Fairmount, Indiana, 46928. Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, February 24 from 2:00 8:00 p.m. at the Fairmount Chapel. A funeral service honoring Roberts life will be held on Wednesday, February 25 at 10:00 a.m. at the Fairmount Chapel, with his son-in-law, Glen Davis officiating. Committal service, MPD honors and, interment will immediately following at Park Cemetery, Fairmount.
