Joseph L. Wells Sr.

Joseph L. Wells Sr., 84, died on Sunday, March 1, 2015, at his Fairmount residence. Born Monday, March 31, 1930 in Marion, Indiana, he was the son of the late Rex E. Wells and the late Dorothy (Williams) Wells. Joe was an Army Veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict. Joe had been employed at Wylie Metal Fisher Body of Marion and Malleble Iron Works. He was a member of the Joneboro American Legion Post 95 and enjoyed golf, fishing, and dancing. He was a great cook and enjoyed being at home. He married Gerrie B. Hunt Wells on August 26, 1960. Gerrie survives in Fairmount. Also surviving are sons, Joseph (Michelle) Wells of Marion, IN and Steve A. (Sarah) Hunt of Payne Springs, TX, Mark (Joyce) Wells of Marion, IN daughters, Roberta (Jim) Hiatt of Summitville, IN, Rose M. (Paul) Stairs of Tool, TX, Susan (Randy) Smith of Marion, IN and Sandy Wells of Marion, IN, brother, Mike Wells. 15 Grandchildren and 28 Great-Grandchildren.
