Mason Morrison, Jr., age 83 of Marion, passed away on Monday, December 21, 2015 at his residence. He was born in Waldron, Mich. on April 16, 1932 to the late Floyd Mason and late Gladys (Henry) Morrison. Mason graduated from Waldron High School in 1950 and later went to Jackson Business College. He was a proud United States Air Force veteran, serving his nation in Japan and Korea during the Korean War. After his service, he worked as a loan officer and later went on to work at, and eventually own for thirty years, the Martin-Morrison Agency, Inc., where he would sell insurance and was a realtor and real estate broker. On December 29, 1990, he married Betty Peck in Marion, this year would have marked twenty-five years of marriage. Mason was a member of the First Christian Church in Marion, the Masonic Lodge, AmVets, where he was very active and a past treasurer, and was the Secretary-Treasurer of the former South Marion Business Club for thirty years. In addition to his wife, Betty, he is survived by two daughters, Nancy (Steve) Mughmaw, of Sweetser, and Anne Watson, of Franklin; son, Kent Morrison, of Tipton; step-daughter, Angela (Roger) Lawler, of Waldron, Mich.; step-son, Stanley Peck, of Pittsford, Mich.; grandchildren, Cami (Major Robert J.) Wright, Adrianne (Matthew) Bisdorf, Adam Mughmaw, Kensey Morrison, Kasey Hayes, Sarah Pearcy, Ron (Dawn) Layman, Ryan (Mary) Layman, Rebecca (Robert) Smith, Renee Layman, Lacy (Nathan) Boyers, Jason (Joanie) Peck, Melissa (A.J.) Williams, Brandy (Chris) Smith; sisters, Dorothy Slocum, Joan (Ivan) Miller, Louise Masters; brother, Louis Morrison; thirty great-grandchildren. Mason was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert and Paul Morrison; sister, Marjorie Double; great-grandson, Mason Brian Mughmaw. Arrangements have been entrusted to the College Park Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 4601 S. Western Ave., Marion, Ind, where the family will receive friends on Saturday, December 26, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. A funeral service will be immediately following at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. Henry Favorite officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Services of Grant County or the First Christian Church, in care of the funeral home.
