She was born May 15, 1931, in Latimer, Iowa, to Nels Peter and Sara (Kibsgaard) Hansen. Evelyn graduated from Hampton High School, class of 1949. She then earned her Associates Degree from North Iowa Area Community College in Mason City. Evelyn was united in marriage to Robert Burmester in 1949 until 1963. 2017. Evelyn worked as a phone operator in Iowa Falls, owned and operated "Sharp Upholstery", and was a tax preparer and bookkeeper. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in rural Hampton where she played the organ for over 20 years. Evelyn enjoyed gardening, camping, and spent most of her time preparing taxes and playing music. Evelyn is survived by her daughter Linda Williams of Hampton; son Dale (Audrey) Sharp of Hampton; son Gary (Sandy) Sharp of Mason City; daughter-in-law Mary Sharp of Sioux City; 11 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Max Sharp, son Larry Burmester, son Richard Sharp, son Clark (Delores) Burmester and brother Alton Hansen.
