Harold Franklin Croft

Harold Franklin "Gabby" Croft, age 82, of Morgantown passed away Friday afternoon, September 4, 2020 at his residence. Gabby was born September 19, 1937 in Nellis, WV, and was a son of the late Keith Clifford and Ivy (Hager) Croft. He is survived by his wife, Christine Louise (Hall) Croft; a son, Jeff Croft and his wife Gretchen of Morgantown; his grandchildren, Garrett Croft, Lindsey Barilla and her husband Andrew, Reid Croft and his wife Jessica, and Leighton Croft; his great-grandchildren, Brooke, Colton, Annabelle and Zane; and his siblings, Kenny Croft, Dean Croft, Charles Croft, Judy Field and Marcell Menear. In addition to his parents, Gabby was preceded in death by a son, Van Franklin Croft, and his siblings, Roger Croft, William Croft, and Dolores Purdue. Gabby was an avid sports fan and enjoyed golfing. He was proud to have received an "undocumented hole-in-one." He was a hard-working man who spent 32 years as a coal miner. While in construction, he assisted in the construction of the WVU Coliseum, and several road projects in the area. His greatest love was his family. Friends may join Gabby's family to honor his life and legacy at Smith Funeral & Cremation Care, 108 Holland Ave., Westover / Morgantown, on Wednesday, September 9th from 4:00 - 7:00 PM and again on Thursday, September 10th from 12 Noon until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 PM officiated by Reverend Neil Leftwich.
