Obituary of David A. Smith David A. Smith Hilton: October 5, 2020, at the age of 57. Predeceased by his parents, Marion & Josephine Smith. David is survived by his loving wife, Gina (Guadagnoli) Smith; children, Steven (Katie Morgan) Smith, Julia Smith & Jordan Smith; sisters, Karen (Dennis) Packard, Peggy Congdon and Cheryl (John) Runyan; brother, Dennis (Jean) Smith; dear friend, Paul Harper. David's memorial service will be celebrated on Saturday, October 10, 1:00 PM at Christ Community Church, 36 Coleman Creek Rd, Brockport NY 14420. Click here to sign David's virtual guest book David was born on April 7, 1963 in Elmira, New York. He was the youngest of 5 children born to Marion and Josephine Smith. He and his siblings Dennis, Karen, Peggy and Cheryl learned their strong patriotism early on from their father, who was a WW 2 veteran. From an early age, David loved spending time in the outdoors- bike riding, running, and, most recently, kayaking. ng and talking and getting to know one another. They became engaged on April 21, 1985, just prior to David's graduation. David moved to the Rochester, NY area to start his job at Eastman Kodak. They married on August 2, 1986 and moved into an apartment near his job. In April of 1990, their son Steven was born, followed in the next 6 years by their daughter, Julia and another son, Jordan. David was very involved in coaching his children's soccer teams and loved attending all their special events. He was proud of seeing all his children graduate from college. He was thrilled to be asked to give a speech when Steven married Katie Morgan. He was excited when Julia recently started her new job. He was proud to see Jordan come out of his shell as a budding actor. David was especially proud of Jordan's performances as George Banks in Mary Poppins and Donkey in Shrek. David enjoyed working with Finney's robotics team for several years. He and Gina worked together to create their gardens, especially when planting their colorful flowers. One of his other favorite hobbies was hanging out and hunting with his best friend, Paul Harper. David's smile and wry sense of humor will be missed by many.
