Catherine A. Irlmeier

Catherine Albertina, daughter of Anton and Ida (Zubrod) Williams, was born November 1, 1920, on the home place, near Halbur, northeast of Manning, Iowa. Catherine attended St. Augustine School in Halbur. After completing her education, she helped on the family farm and worked for other farm families in the area. On January 30, 1946, Catherine was united in marriage with Albert J. Irlmeier at St. Augustine Church in Halbur. Six children were born to this union. They lived on a farm 3 ½ miles north of Manning. Albert died in 1969. Catherine and her children farmed until 1976 when they moved into Manning. In the early 1980s they built a home on First Street. Catherine was a member of Sacred Heart Parish, Altar Society and Catholic Daughters of the Americas in Manning. In her spare time she enjoyed playing cards, reading and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Catherine was able to remain in her home until a couple of weeks before her death when she moved to a nursing home.
