Katherine K. Mader
Katherine Kay, daughter of Ray and Maxine (Berndt) Conrad, was born December 20, 1937 at Irwin, Iowa. She attended school in Irwin, graduating with the Class of 1955. After Business College in Omaha, Katherine worked for several companies including Swift Packing Plant, Tidy House and Prawl Engineering. In her first marriage she had 2 children, Michael T. and Kelly K. Sherrett. On January 5, 1970, Katherine was united in marriage with Robert E. Mader. Robert was a telephone communications engineer and that meant a lot of traveling for the family over the years. They lived in Nebraska, Canada, Indiana, California, Kansas and Missouri. After the death of her husband in 1985 and her retirement, Katherine settled in Littleton, Colorado. Katherine was a homemaker most of her life and enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, fishing and traveling. She was in the Red Hat Club and a great college football fan, especially for the teams from Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas and Missouri. Above all she enjoyed spending time with her two children and grandchildren who all lived in Littleton. died there early Monday morning, June 6, 2011, at the age of 73 years, 5 months and 10 days. Preceding her in death are her parents and husband Robert E. Mader. She is survived by her son Terry Sherrett and wife Renne of Littleton; daughter Kelly and husband Joe Goetz of Littleton; three brothers: Robert Conrad and wife Gloria of Omaha, NE; Garold Conrad and wife Pam of Perry and Harlow Conrad and wife Denise of Perry; six grandchildren: Brett, Ashley, Brianna and Chely Sherrett and Kaylee and Taylor Goetz; two great-grandchildren Tessa and Trent Sherrett; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
