Edward Lee McDaniel

Edward Lee McDaniel was born August 28, 1961 to Curlee and Willie Mae (Cotton) McDaniel in Omaha, Nebraska. He was one of nine children in the McDaniel family. Born in this world completely hearing impaired he still lived his life to the fullest. As a child he loved when his older brothers would take him to the movies and hang out on Saturday nights, he and his eldest brother Jerry were very close. He enjoyed family gatherings and dinner at his sister Teresa's home regularly. He graduated from Nebraska School for the Deaf where he played football. Although he had no children, he was very close with his nieces and nephews. He was especially close with his nephew Ja' Sean Coleman whom he cared for while his sister Sherry worked, he adored him as if he were his son. Bethlehem Deaf Church of Omaha was a large part of Edwards life where he was a member for over 45 years beginning at 15 years old. In his robe of white representing the robe of righteousness that is worn while standing in the light of Christ in Heaven he would light the alter candles on Communion Sundays.
