Jerry Howard Dancer, born in Hugo, Oklahoma, February 21, 1955 and grew up in Longview, Texas ascended to heaven while in the arms of his loving wife, Victoria A. Dancer with his Mini Goldendoodle, Dax beside him. Also, his precious children, Kacey Droz (Jason), Taylor Ake (Jason), Dustin Dancer (Nichole), Alexandria Silverman (Ross), Sydney Dancer were all present shortly after his passing into the glorious presence of Our Lord & Savior. He had been diagnosed with Stage 4 colon, abdominal cancer on July 20, 2020. Jerry was preceded in death by son, Chase Parker Dancer, and his parents Jerry Deron Dancer & Bonnie Ailene Cowley Anderson. Jerry was a proud grandfather of 12 grandchildren; Jayden, Hudson, Greyson & Crosby Droz; Emerson, Campbell & Palmer Ake; Hunter & Arrow Dancer; Hazel, Harlow & Archer Silverman. He loved them beyond measure and was known by the name of PaPa J. He was a legendary All-Star athlete both in Baseball and Football while in high school, he also ran track. Charming and "not hard on the eyes" were just a few of his unforgettable characteristics. Jerry was proud to say he was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous and he was proud of his sobriety of 10 ¾ years on the day of his passing. He loved to garden; many people didn't know that. Going to movies, watching baseball, football, camping and hunting in his younger years then traveling and cruising with his wife, as he matured were just a few of the hobbies he loved to do. A Celebration of Life will take place Sunday, November 8th, 2020 from 3pm -5pm.
